Cortney said her pregnancy was an incredible journey, but she had a lot to learn. She had to manage first-trimester body changes, and things she didn’t understand. She had to accept the fact that she had less energy, emotional changes, and she did not always get things done in her day that she was used to doing.

In the first trimester, Cortney experienced discomfort, morning sickness, and nausea all day. She was surprised that her body was changing so much. Through the journey of experiencing discomfort, she discovered how much stronger she is than she had thought. Being present in the moment is challenging, but it is important in order to enjoy each day. Her second trimester brought with it more energy. Cortney was excited to begin working out again. Cortney reminds mamas that it is key to exercise to be healthy and have a good pregnancy. She recommends activity in pregnancy; just keep moving.

Cortney has an incredible husband, and he was her main support during pregnancy. She needed her husband as her emotional and spiritual support. But she recognizes now that she really needed a group of women for support in her pregnancy too. Support is needed in pregnancy because let’s be honest, we are scared. We need a reminder that we are stronger than we think we are.

Cortney was living away from her family, and her friends were not Mamas yet. She was challenged to find support from other seasoned mamas. However, the local pregnant mom’s group met on a day that was convenient for Cortney. She was not able to connect with this group. So, she found mamas on the internet. She found support and community through online connections, women that were in the same season of life that she was in at the time. She needed these sources to answer her questions: “How to approach food cravings, what to pack in my birth bag, and tips for sleeping.” These online sources became her encouragement in time of need.

The internet is a great place for community and information. But it is hard to find good quality sources. We are Pearently provide that community and information for pregnancy, labor, and delivery in one place. It is super convenient, and it is credible information for you in your pregnancy.
