  • Pausing makes your message more clear and lets your audience process details from your presentation.
  • Helps people retain and remember what you are saying better.
  • A more comfortable rhythm is achieved that makes listening easier.
  • Breath Control. Like running - you perform better when you are not out of breath! When your breath is under control you’ll maintain your place in have more organized thoughts.
  • Aids in transitions for key segments of your speech or presentation.
  • MOST critically - if you pause long enough - this will open up audience engagement.

Remember: People are POLITE - They may not always be comfortable interrupting you! Give them some room to speak up next time you are speaking up!
