The importance of rhythm that musicians need to ALWAYS keep in mind, musicians goal should always be to serve the music/artist first(AS HARD AS THAT CAN BE WHEN YOU'RE UBER CREATIVE), and it is absolutely nothing wrong with playing the same thing over and over!
