Michigan is a very special place to Kerri and today’s guest just so happens to be from there! He has managed thousands of experiential and memorable events. Joe McKeown is the Head of Global Events and Partnerships at Ryan. Joe joins host Kerri Garbis to share some of his tips on how to expertly plan a corporate event. Takeaways: Events have a big impact on the audience. A lot of people aren’t aware of the big impact of events and instead just focus on how events happen. You don’t want an event to be exactly the same as it was last year. You need to change things up and bring something new to the table. As an event professional, you have to consider including people virtually and in person as hybrid events have become more and more common. You need an ROI measurement tool for corporate events to show that they are providing a valuable service to the company. The average attention span of an audience at an event has dwindled down now because of how distracting phones have become. The digitally enabled generation is changing the event landscape. They are used to instant gratification so grabbing their attention proves to be an extra challenge. Take the time to get familiar with the stage and make sure you can read the teleprompter from where you will be on stage.
