Now that most seasons have come to an end, it’s time to really dig in to how well you performed this past season. But, we’re not only worried about stats. How well did each piece of the machine do its job? It’s time you evaluate your system, your coaches, and your players.

How do you evaluate your system?

  • Games you “should win” - win/lose
    • Should win
    • Could win
    • Have to be perfect
  • Did you have one side of the ball “overachieve”
  • Did injuries derail the season
  • Did you ever find yourself without an answer

How do you evaluate your Coaches?

  • Stats matter
    • Kids improve for two reasons
  • Kids feedback - Admin feedback
  • Did coach improve

How do you evaluate your Returning Players?

  • What role did you ask them to fill? Did they fill it?
  • Did they improve as the season went on?
  • Do they want to return?

What NOT to do as a Coach

  • Today’s Lesson: “Don’t think 10-0 means you coached better than 5-5”
