John 9:24-25 So for the second time they called in the man who had been blind and told him, “God should get the glory for this, because we know this man Jesus is a sinner.”
“I don’t know whether he is a sinner.” The man replied. “But I know this: I was blind and now I can see!”
The Pharisees are such a perfect mirror of us. Well let me now speak of others. They remind me of own stubbornness and ignorance. Before I began to dive deep in the word of God, I had made so many wrong assumptions about God’s character, his motives and even his power.
Little did I know that God is far more loving, kind, patient and merciful than I could ever know. Especially towards those who seek him wholeheartedly. But strangely enough this loving, kind, patient and merciful God Is way more severe, harsh and unsafe than people would like to suggest. Especially towards those who oppress, mislead, dehumanize and live hypocritically.
I didn’t always seek God above all else. But since I started to, I’ve become a bit more patient, kind, forgiving, wise and humble than before. And that is no coincidence. So I wonder what kind of effects will Jesus have on you?
