For my 50th episode, I am blessed to talk with George Michalopulos. The Tulsa, Oklahoma, native is a layman in the Orthodox Church in America, a pharmacist, father of two sons, Constantine and Michael, and author of “American Orthodox Church: A History of Its Beginnings” which he co-wrote with Deacon Ezra Ham. But Michalopulos is probably best known in the “Orthosphere” for his website Monomakhos: One Who Fights Alone, where he and wife Gail have been sharing their hot takes on religion, culture, and politics for the past 11 years. Michalopulos and I discuss how his influential website came to be, Oklahoma as the South, multiple jurisdictions in Orthodox America, a little system-backed hit piece that happened to call the two of “white supremacists,” pushing back against wokeism within the Church, the problem with “quietists,” and more. Michalopulos and his God-honoring work are such an inspiration, and ain’t no lefty subversives or coof gonna keep us down!

Articles pertinent to our discussion:“Contra Fordham(ites)” by Monomakos“Orthodox America Has a Cultural Marxist Problem” by Fr. John Whiteford“Stirring the Pot” by your humble host“The Manhattan Declaration”“The Spermatikos Logos and Natural Law
