Today I speak to coach, musician, lecturer, business owner and public speaker Lee Bridges.

Addiction can take a hold on anyone at any time and that was certainly the case for my guest on the podcast today. In a band in his 20’s Lee’s life went down a route of drugs and drink at the same time as outwardly looking like he had everything together. Shunning the traditional 12 step programs popularised by many Lee decided to go it alone and using a number of alternative techniques he got clean and stayed clean. All of this he shares in his recent book Do Shit, Get Shit done and what we unpack on today’s episode. He is also a step Dad himself.

On this episode we discuss:

  • Lee's addiction problems in his 20's and how he shunned 12 Step eventually to get his life turned around.
  • The hacks and tips he uses to get off autopilot and stay off autopilot
  • The balance between pressure and self-responsibility
  • Lee's strong beliefs around purpose
  • The issue of role models right now
  • How those in the teaching profession show up and set an example
