×Derek Ritz, also known as Ritzy, disappeared at the age of 51. He was last seen at 3 a.m. on Dec. 31 at a home on Avonton Road in Sebringville, Ontario. The police investigation into Ritz's disappearance is ongoing, and no official conclusion has been reached. However, a private investigator from Please Bring Me Home, a Canadian organization, is actively working on the case. This investigator, who has been involved since the summer of 2020, believes they are close to uncovering the truth. The leading theory involves a small group of individuals who allegedly assaulted Ritz and disposed of his remains in various ways, making it difficult for the police to recover his body. Despite these theories and speculation, no charges have been laid. I spoke with Shelly Smith, a Stratford resident searching for Derek, about Derek's disappearance. I want to be clear: What Shelly and I discussed is speculative—at this time, no charges have been laid against any individuals. If you have any information about Derek's disappearance, your assistance is crucial. Please contact Please Bring Me Home at 226-702-2728 or visit the Justice for Ritzy Facebook Page for more information. Your involvement could be the key to solving this case. --- DISCLAIMER: The views and opinions expressed in this podcast are those of the creator and do not necessarily reflect those of any of the guests on this show. On this week's show, I attempt to shed some further light on the case of Camille Dotson, a woman who disappeared in Las Vegas in September of 1994. Camille was 30 years old at the time of her disappearance and is described as a white woman with hazel/brown eyes and brown hair, which she sometimes lightened. She stood at 5'7" and had a tattoo on her hip that reads "Cruz." Camille weighed between 125-145lbs with an athletic build. She had a recently broken nose and slightly discoloured teeth, and she was known to smoke Marlboro cigarettes. Additionally, she may have used the first names Nicole, Renee, or Kim and the last names Clarke or Diaz. On September 3rd, 1994, Camille was last seen walking on the 300 block of South Casino Blvd in Las Vegas after leaving the Clark County Detention Center on foot. This was the last confirmed sighting of her. Camille moved to Las Vegas as a single mom to escape an abusive marriage. She faced trauma, financial struggles, and difficult circumstances that led her to engage in survival sex work. At her lowest point, she battled homelessness and addiction. For this second part, I spoke to Gaby, a dedicated investigator who has spent years tirelessly researching and investigating Camille’s disappearance. Her expertise and commitment to this case have been invaluable, and it has even led to the police changing their file on Camille. Please visit the Facebook page and website for the latest updates on Camille's case. Ashley and her team are still searching for anyone who knew her during her time in Vegas (1991-1994). If you recognize her, please get in touch with them through the website or Facebook page. Remember, even the most minor details about her and her life could be the key to finding her. If you have any information about the disappearance of Camille Dotson, please call the Las Vegas Metro Police Department at (702) 828-3111. --- Support the show on Patreon . Jennifer and Adrianna Wix were last seen on March 25, 2004, at the Benton residence, Jennifer's boyfriend's family's house, in Springfield, Tennessee. On that day, Jennifer's father, Michael Wix, spoke with Jennifer on the phone, making him the last relative to have contact with her. This has been a heart-wrenching journey for Jennifer's family, who have been tirelessly searching for answers. This week, I have a baffling case for you. The last time Natalie saw her sister, Katherine Berry, was when she was only a few months old. When Natalie became a teenager, she was told that Katherine was missing, and her heart was shattered. Natalie has dedicated many years to searching, praying, and thinking about Katherine. In December 2022, she discovered that a missing person's report was not on file for her. Undeterred, she gathered as much basic information as possible, drove to the Muskogee police station, and filed the missing person's report for her (Case#: 2023-10570, Namus: MP103987). Pinning down the exact date and circumstances surrounding Katherine's disappearance is tricky. Natalie thinks her sister Katherine went missing sometime around February of 1987 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Katherine would have been a senior in high school and had just turned 18 years old. Natalie has spent the last year gathering more information about Katherine, sifting through rumours and facts, and speaking to whoever would speak to her. Natalie and her mother also contributed their DNA to a database to compare the DNA of unidentified remains across the country, but there has yet to be a match. If you have any information that might be helpful, contact Natalie through the "Where is Katherine Berry Facebook Page" or call the Muskogee Police Department at 918-683-8000. --- Support the show on Patreon Support the show on Buy Me a Coffee --- DISCLAIMER: The views and opinions expressed in this podcast are those of the creator and do not necessarily reflect those of any of the guests on this show. Today's show focuses on the missing person, Ian Indridson. Ian is a 56-year-old Caucasian man who is five feet, eleven inches tall and has a slim build. He has salt-and-pepper hair, short at the time of his disappearance. On January 10, 2022, Ian disappeared in the Fairfield area of Victoria. At that time, he wore a dark-coloured Eddie Bauer sweater, sweatpants and rubber boots. I worked briefly with Ian, and in our few conversations, he always struck me as kind, smart and funny. I spoke to his wife, Gloria, about his uncharacteristic disappearance. If you have any information about where Ian may be and have yet to speak with officers, please call the Victoria Police at (250) 995-7654, extension 1. Alternatively, you can report anonymously by calling Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or submitting a tip online on their website. I also encourage you to visit the "Find Ian Indridson" Facebook page and the GoFundMe link in the show notes. Gloria is using the GoFundMe to retain the services of a private investigator who is helping in the search for Ian. Please consider donating if you have the resources to do so. It is important to remember that if you see Ian, you call the Victoria Police and report the sighting. Let's all be vigilant and do our best to find Ian and bring him back safely. --- Support the show on Patreon Support the show on Buy Me a Coffee --- DISCLAIMER: The views and opinions expressed in this podcast are those of the creator and do not necessarily reflect those of any of the guests on this show. Today, I have a very special guest: Amanda Knox. For those of you who don't know Amanda, she is an exoneree, journalist, public speaker, and author of the best-selling memoir, "Waiting to Be Heard." Between 2007 and 2015, Amanda spent nearly four years in an Italian prison and eight years on trial for a murder she didn't commit. The controversy over Amanda's case made international headlines and unwillingly thrust her into the public spotlight, where she was vilified and shamed. Amanda now works to shed light on the issues of wrongful conviction, truth-seeking, and public shaming. Her essays and journalism have been published in major publications like USA Today, the L.A. Times, The Atlantic, The Independent, The Free Press, the Seattle Times, and Seattle Magazine. Amanda is also the co-host of the podcast "Labyrinths." In Labyrinths, Amanda and her co-host Christopher Robinson delve into stories of getting lost and found again through compassionate interviews, philosophical rants, and playful debate with fascinating people. I invited Amanda on my show to talk about a five-part series she did in her Labyrinths podcast, "Blood Money," which looks at the history and evolution of true crime content and the many ethical dilemmas that appear when creating and consuming true crime. "Blood Money" is a must-listen for any creator or consumer of accurate crime content. I was so grateful that Amanda agreed to come on the podcast to talk about how the series came about, her struggles with her own story being exploited by content creators, and how we can all strive to be more ethical when creating and consuming accurate crime content. I have a very intriguing episode for you this week; I interviewed Dr. Rachael Hanel about Patty Hearst and the Symbionese Liberation Army (SLA). Rachael is a former newspaper reporter and copy editor and teaches Creative Writing at Minnesota State University, Mankato. She is the author of more than 20 nonfiction books for children. Her first adult book is "We'll Be the Last Ones to Let You Down: Memoir of a Gravedigger's Daughter." She's also the author of "Not the Camilla We Knew," a book about Camilla Hall, a pastor's daughter from small-town Minnesota who eventually joined the ranks of the notorious Symbionese Liberation Army before dying in a shootout with Los Angeles Police in May 1974. The SLA, an American militant far-left organization active in California between 1973 and 1975, kidnapped Patty Hearst, the granddaughter of newspaper mogul William Randolph Hearst, from her Berkley dorm in February of 1974. A bizarre story followed, including extortion and Hearst joining the SLA as one of its members. The saga climaxes with a bank robbery gone awry. I had heard of the SLA and Patty Hearst in passing before talking to Rachael, but I had no idea just how incredible and strange this story is. Rachael was kind enough to walk me through what happened in 1974 and how much of what happened is still relevant fifty years later. --- Support the show on Patreon Support the show on Buy Me a Coffee --- DISCLAIMER: The views and opinions expressed in this podcast are those of the creator and do not necessarily reflect those of any of the guests on this show. On October 22, 2013, Dean Kelly Morrison disappeared after leaving his job as a painter at the 2600-hectare Stump Lake Ranch between Merritt and Kamloops. He is a 44-year-old father of three who had been living in a trailer on the ranch's property. Despite extensive search efforts, Morrison's disappearance remains a mystery to his family. It's alleged that on the day he was let go, he had an altercation with the ranch's foreman. It's also alleged that on the day Dean went missing, the Stump Lake Ranch foreman contacted members of Dean's family, asking them to get rid of his truck and trailer; the foreman eventually called a tow truck to have Dean's truck and trailer taken away. His sister reported him missing on October 28. Despite air and several ground searches and hiring a private investigator, no concrete evidence has been found to explain why Morrison disappeared. His sister had given him a bottle of Ativan pills to help him cope with personal stress, including his marriage breaking up, but the family does not believe that he would have willingly vanished; he told his mother before he disappeared that he would never leave his children. Dean's mother, Elizabeth, told me that when the family first reported Dean missing, both the ranch foreman and later the police informed her that Dean had committed suicide despite having no physical evidence to prove this. The case remains open. Please visit the Facebook page "Missing: Dean Kelly Morrison" for more information about Dean's case. Any information regarding Morrison's disappearance should be reported to Kamloops RCMP at 250-314-1800. --- Support the show on Patreon Support the show on Buy me a Coffee --- DISCLAIMER: The views and opinions expressed in this podcast are those of the creator and do not necessarily reflect those of any of the guests on this show. Today, on the show, I have Canadian author Tim Marczenko. Tim has written two books, "Disembodied Voices: True Accounts of Hidden Beings" and "Gone Cold: Death and Disappearances in the Northwoods." I wanted Tim on the show to talk about his latter book, "Gone Cold," which looks at cold, missing person cases in my home province, Ontario. Tim's book is incredibly gripping and exhaustively researched. I was delighted he wanted to come on the show to discuss his book, the writing process, and some of the cases he's spent so much time researching. Happy New Year! I wanted to start 2024 with a mystery I have always been fascinated with. In December of 1900, in the Flannan Islands on Eilean Mor, three lighthouse keepers, James Ducat, Thomas Marshall, and Donald MacArthur, vanished in stormy weather and without a trace off the remote northwest coast of Scotland. Theories range that the men perished due to supernatural forces, inhabiting the Island since pre-Christian times. Or a conflict broke out between the men, and they murdered each other in a rage. And finally, some think they were blown over the side of a cliff in a gale or swept away by a giant wave during a storm. I was lucky enough to speak with Keith McCloskey, author of "The Lighthouse: The Mystery of the Eilean Mor Lighthouse Keepers. " Keith's book is a tremendously gripping narrative rooted in his original historical research. Keith has written many books on aviation history and mysteries and another famous mystery, the Dyatlov Pass . You can check out Keith's books on his website, keithmccloskey.com . 51-year-old Patricia Duncan, a mother of seven, went missing from Buckie, a coastal Scottish town, sometime on November 16, 2002. It’s reported she walked out of her home into the cold and rain with her cigarettes and brown sheepskin jacket. It’s believed she was also wearing black pants and black shoes. Patricia is approximately 5’4 in height, with a slim build and fair complexion. Her family says she had no reason to leave the house, and her missing is incredibly out of character. There was a large search of the region for Patricia. Still, despite an extensive police investigation, including cadaver dogs and an underwater search team, no clues have been found about what may have happened to Patricia. If you have any information, please get in touch with Police Scotland on 101 or via their website. If you prefer to remain anonymous, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or use their online reporting service.
