Haleigh is a senior pursuing a pre-law triple major degree in Political Science and Public Relations with Honors at the University of Oklahoma and Science of Law and Policy at Liberty University. After college, Haleigh plans to pursue a Juris Doctorate in Mergers and Acquisitions Law from the University of Texas at Austin. She currently works at a Political Campaigns Advocacy Group called Team Thrive in Oklahoma City. Haleigh is a member of Pi Beta Phi at Oklahoma Alpha and serves on the executive council as President. On campus Haleigh also serves as the Chair of the Gaylord College of Mass Communication Ambassadors and Director of Public Relations for the winning Glasscock Mortazavi Student Government campaign. After growing up with a speech impediment, she learned the value of hard work and dedication when it came to correcting her speech. Since a young age, Liza has been passionate about music and theatre, attending a weekend performing arts school alongside her weekday school studies. Liza’s Beauty With A Purpose project, Nou Later Nou Lafors (which can be translated to “Our roots, our power”), aims to combat poverty and food insecurity by empowering women to become self-sufficient and grow their own crops. Having grown up in Sainte Croix, an underprivileged area of Mauritius, Liza is no stranger to the socioeconomic challenges faced by residents in similar communities. Her project focuses on providing support to women from Sainte Croix, offering relief and sustainable solutions to families struggling to afford basic food necessities and maintain a balanced diet. As a strong advocate for women's empowerment and with a background in researching the subject in Mauritius, Liza recognises the significance of using her platform as Miss Mauritius to make a tangible impact on the lives of women. Britney Lane received her BA in psychology from Emmanuel College in 2019. She went on to complete her Masters of Social Work from the University of New Hampshire in 2022. Britney works for The Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester in New Hampshire as a child and family therapist and case manager. Her work focuses on trauma therapy, which empowers children and adolescents to tell their experiences through storytelling. Outside of work, Britney is passionate about survivor led policy change. She helped pass the Sexual Assault Survivor Bill of Rights in Rhode Island giving rights to thousands of survivors using her personal story. Paitin Powell is a 25-year-old who calls the beautiful Whitsundays in North Queensland home. Her roots run deep in this region, and it's here that she honed her competitive tennis skills during her high school years. Paitin has an 8-year-long tenure in community pharmacy under her belt and has recently pivoted towards a career in dental nursing. Simultaneously, she's passionate about imparting knowledge and skills to the younger generation in North Queensland through her modelling and deportment classes. No stranger to the spotlight, Paitin has been competing in pageants since her teen years. Her crowning achievements include competing in Miss Teen Australia, Miss World Australia, and Miss Grand Australia. Tahlia Edmonds is an 18-year-old gymnast, dancer, landscaper and inspiring advocate hailing from Country Victoria. Raised on a farm, Tahlia cherishes the simplicity and hard work of rural life. She wakes up early each day to milk goats and work on her farm, embodying the spirit of a true country girl. From a young age, Tahlia was drawn to the joy of movement and expression, dreaming of becoming a ballerina or a gymnast. Despite the hardships she faced in the aftermath of the Black Saturday Bushfires in 2009, which took everything from her family except the clothes they were wearing, her passion for dance and gymnastics never wavered. The trauma of the disaster, the deadliest bushfire in her neighborhood, left a lasting impact on Tahlia and her family. The Edmonds' family home was reduced to ashes, their community devastated and the process of rebuilding their lives continues to this day. Yet Tahlia has always strived to keep her spirits high, using her experiences to empathise with others who have been through similar ordeals. Despite the financial constraints brought about by the fires, Tahlia kept her dream alive, seizing every opportunity to practice her handstands and dance movements. Her dedication paid off when, at 13, she was gifted a term of rhythmic gymnastics for her birthday. This sparked a journey that led her to state competitions and further exploration of acrobatics and ballet. Today, Tahlia balances her time between working as a landscaper and gymnastics coach, assisting in outdoor education, and contributing to her family's business. She aspires to use her platform, such as her participation in Miss Grand Australia, to advocate for individuals who have experienced the trauma of natural disasters. Cheraleigh Van Zanten was born in Johannesburg but has spent the last 21 years in England. She is the proud mother of a vibrant 5-year-old boy named Abel. In addition to being a devoted parent, Cheraleigh is also a successful businesswoman, owning a skin clinic known as @theskinlabnorwich. Her compassion extends beyond her family and business. Every week, she volunteers for a local charity to help the community gain access to affordable food. Over her adult years, she has managed to raise over £10,000 for various charities. From the age of 16, Cheraleigh was an active participant in pageantry. However, after the birth of her son, she was disheartened to find that she could no longer compete. Questioning why motherhood should limit her ability to represent her country, she reached out to various pageant systems, advocating for the inclusion of mothers in competitions. While she humbly acknowledges that her efforts may not have directly led to the rule changes in Miss Universe, the shift brought her immense joy. It signified a moment of inclusion for women with children in pageantry. Making history, Cheraleigh became one of the first two contestants to enter Miss Universe GB as a mother. But her advocacy doesn't stop there. She is also a strong campaigner against domestic violence, having herself been a victim. Through her harrowing experiences and interactions with the legal system, she's found the strength to support others facing similar situations. Currently, she collaborates with a local domestic violence charity and is furthering her ability to provide assistance by studying a course in understanding domestic abuse. With a first-class honours degree in Law, a master’s in Legal Practice pending, and a training contract with one of the most reputable law firms in the East Midlands, I will soon achieve my goal of becoming a qualified solicitor. I believe in making an impact: using my gifts to help others. I dedicate much of my spare time to helping young people take the first steps in their careers through mentorship and creating media content. I am also an ambassador for Ladies of Law, a voluntary organisation championing women in law. In 2021, I published my own book, “Not Just a Pretty Face,” aimed at improving the interview skills of women and girls of all demographics. I am Katelan Pittick, a current Miss World Australia National Finalist who is incredibly honoured to represent my beautiful state of Victoria in the upcoming National Finals. While I am passionate about pageantry, my true love lies with the ocean and its incredible marine life. I have been fortunate enough to scuba dive and snorkel with a variety of species, including reef sharks, manta rays, and turtles, thanks to my mother who introduced me to the beauty of the ocean at a young age during a dive through the Great Barrier Reef. Aside from my affinity for the ocean, I am also pursuing a course in Real Estate Practice with the goal of becoming a qualified agent who prioritizes compassion and understanding towards clients navigating new chapters in their lives. In addition, I have been actively supporting Variety - The Children's Charity through fundraising and volunteering to assist children living with disability, illness, and disadvantage. Having been diagnosed with severe scoliosis at the age of 11 and undergoing a full-length spinal fusion, I established a personal project named “myscoliosis” through the Miss World "Beauty with a Purpose" initiative. My goal is to increase awareness of this prevalent condition and offer a support platform for the scoliosis community, where individuals can find inspiration, comfort, and reassurance.
