Dr. Diane Wolf has been in the education world for 30 years and still loves it! She's currently the Assistant Superintendent of Bloomington School District 87*, but in the past has served as the Assistant Regional Superintendent of Schools is McLean, Livingston, Logan, and DeWitt counties, a former high school English teacher, and has "taught teachers" as her kids say, in her roles in professional development for educators & administrators in over 30 school districts across the country. That role has included Diane speaking to crowds of over 1,800 people!
In today's conversation, the member of Leadership Illinois, McLean County Leadership Program, ISU’s College of Education Hall of Fame, and recipient of the Steve and Sandi Adams Student Affairs Leadership Award speaks with me about why (and if) teachers are leaving the profession in droves, the importance of developing meaningful connections with students and how to do so, whether teachers should have the option of declining using students preferred pronouns, eliminating D's and F's from the grading scales, inspiring stories of hard-to-handle students, how education has changed, and the rise of school shootings and the precautions we should and should not take!
