Meet Mehcad Brooks. Mehcad is an award winning actor, as well as producer and writer, known in the entertainment industry for his raw talent and sharp mind. Earlier this year, Mehcad starred as Jackson ‘Jax’ Briggs, a cybernetically-enhanced super soldier and leader of Earthrealm in Warner Bros’ highly anticipated action adventure feature film Mortal Kombat . As well as Mortal Kombat , Mehcad’s been in a whole host of brilliant films including Tyler Perry’s A Fall From Grace and Nobody’s Fool – and he’s shone on the television front in Desperate Housewives , True Blood and most recently in the DC Comic Superhero action-adventure series, Supergirl . Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Mehcad grew up excelling at academics and sports, but always had a deep-rooted passion for the arts (in fact, he gave up a full scholarship to Yale in order to hone his craft). With its more than six million supporters, 'Moms Demand Action' volunteers have stopped the NRA's priority legislation in statehouses more than 90 percent of the time, and helped pass hundreds of gun safety laws across the country. In fact, Shannon’s been described as "the NRA's worst nightmare". Saira grew up in Virginia, USA, the daughter of Indian immigrants. For forty years, she wasted her very precious time aspiring to be accepted by a dominant white society, which Saira describes as a futile task for anyone not born with white skin.
