How do you feel about stepping on the scale?

If you’re anything like my clients (and me before I figured out restriction-free weight loss), panic, dread, and complete resistance may come to mind.

But here’s the truth: the scale should be an ally on your weight loss journey.

The scale is a tool that reflects your progress - either showing you what’s working, or what changes can be made.

But if you don’t yet see it in that neutral, drama-free way, you’re not alone.

Challenging relationships with the scale stem from a variety of factors:

  • Mental: what we make the number mean, and how that makes us feel.

  • Physical: the scale is a simplistic tool that doesn’t account for body composition, normal reasons for fluctuation, or overall health.

  • Societal: unrealistic body standards and comparison with others can amplify the emotional impact.

But you can learn to transform your relationship with the scale.

You can learn to see it as a neutral tool to help you along on your restriction-free weight loss journey.

OR you can ditch it completely and use any number of other techniques and resources to track your progress!

I'm covering it all on this week's episode of the Weight Loss Doesn't Have to Suck Podcast.
You'll learn:

  • How to ditch the scale if you hate it and use other methods to measure your progress.
  • How to lessen your mental drama around the scale.
  • How to view the number on the scale as neutral data - either showing you what's working or helping you to identify areas for improvement so you can accelerate your weight loss.
  • How to separate your self-worth from the number you see on the scale, and celebrate and support yourself no matter what.
