Godwin There are spaces within me I keep blank. Thoughts I push out. Ideas my right and left brain use to play keep-away from my consciousness. I rearrange the furniture to cover up spots of recollection. I hang pictures to hide events. I dig holes, deep and dark, to bury, to forget. But memory is a dog. It hunts what I hide, plays fetch, lays at my feet all things I secret away, like an offering. Then he happily waits, tail wagging, to start the game all over again.
