Michael Lansing is an American professional soccer player who plays as a goalkeeper for Aalesunds FK in the OBOS Ligaen, this week he steps into the 11 to share the mindset of a professional goalkeeper at the highest levels of European Football. Lansing shares the story of his journey to Bucknell University where he faced early success on the pitch and coaches planting the seed of professional football in his head, only to then be met with adversity and battling for playing time later in his career. With a degree from the USA and not much else of a name in global football, Mike booked a flight to Denmark for trials and proceeded to create a career for himself that has seen him play at the top levels of Denmark and Norway, in a position unlike few others in sports; a goalkeeper in Football.
