In this episode, Hakim briefly shares what courage has meant to him in the context of leading himself, his family and his business. He shares the difference between bravery and courage and discusses the various ways harnessing our courage within can make us more effective as leaders of teams and/or our own business. There have been numerous events in Hakim’s life where courage has been a necessity and results in extraordinary results. It involved calculated risk-taking and trust in his ability to persevere without always knowing how things would ultimately pan out. So, then what’s the difference between bravery and courage? How does courage impact decision-making? Can courage be used to motivate and inspire ourselves and others? How do leaders use courage as a tool for building trust and credibility? Is courage really an essential ingredient for creating a positive organizational culture? Answering these questions is such an important part of understanding how to develop courage and leverage it both in leading oneself and others.
