- List out all of the things that are on your mind to do
- Consider which ones are important. Go through each one and ask yourself - WHY is this important? And how time sensitive it is?
- Notice any patterns. Do any of these tasks stem from a particular person or department? Is it possible a change in process could reduce these in future? Is there a better way of doing any of these?
- Similarly, when looking for a pattern, consider if any of these seem to always be hanging around. Is it possible there are particular tasks you avoid because you aren't confident/competent? Could getting some additional support or training help?
- Reflect on if you have offered to do any of these. Could any of these have been avoided? (Be honest...)
- Delegation. Could anyone else do these tasks or is it essential you do them? If so, why - and how has it become like this?
