In this episode, Tyler talks with Jorge Mercado, lead historical researcher for the Borinqueneers Congressional Gold Medal Ceremony National Committee, a NON-PROFIT 501(c)(3) organization that honors the 65th Infantry Regiment “Borinqueneers, about the history of the Borinqueneers during the Korean War. Mr. Mercado over 3 years has dedicated his volunteer service in advancing and preserving the legacy of the Borinqueneers on the social media platform. He is the grandson of a Borinqueneer and a FDNY EMS 9/11 Responder who through his devotion to his grandfather’s old regiment, has helped cope with PTSD related to his service as a First Responder.
