Navigating Diabetes and Your Eye Health
Manage episode 407330147 series 3562318
What you need to know about diabetes and your eyes. I know, this one can make people nervous, but the most important thing to know is that treatments have changed A LOT and they are much more effective than you might think.
We’ll also define the most common type of diabetic eye complication, retinopathy.
Our conversation this week is a little different. This first aired on my original podcast, Diabetes Connections. But the info is great and I wanted you to hear it. The family I’m talking to is a father and daughter who both have type 1.. Randall and his daughter Emma Barker were diagnosed at the same age. And we are joined by Dr. Laura Hieronymus, Vice President of Health Care Programs for the American Diabetes Association.
This podcast is not intended as medical advice. If you have those kinds of questions, please contact your health care provider.
