These two artists passed on within days of one another last December, and it seems like yesterday. They were dear friends of the Church of Stop Shopping.
Hamish was best known for his band The Clean, and John for his Afro-Dixie Mixtapes. Ambitious artists could wish to leave for the world such luminous gifts. But “....our little life / Is rounded with a sleep." We can't know whether what we make will survive. All we can do is give to those who follow us our songs, and our stories, for justice, love, and peace. That's what John and Hamish did and continue to do every day. Love-a-alujah!
