What a great interview with Dr. Beth Ackerman. She is an associate dean in the School of Education at Liberty University.

It was while working at an alternative school, she completed her Master’s degree in special education at Lynchburg College and a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership at the University of Virginia. She has built Liberty University’s education program to include over 1000 students in the special education program. Additionally, she has developed a love of sharing what God has laid on her heart over the years as a follower of Christ, a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, and educator. We are the benefactors of that love today.

Key Ideas:

Part 1: Interview

  • Moving through disappointing times
  • The power of remembering
  • Trust and Obey
  • Flexibility and the importance of keeping a calendar
  • How to handle negative feedback

Part 2: Dealing with Disappointments

  • Remember the past – Wes King song, Remember
  • Float instead of fight
  • Have confidence in your creator
  • Look to the future with Hope
