In this episode of I’ll Allow it Nevada, we dive into the innovative Nevada FASTT (Forensic Assessment Services Triage Team) program. Join us as we explore how this program addresses the behavioral health needs of individuals involved in, or at risk of involvement in, the criminal justice system. Cherylyn Rahr-Wood - Regional Behavioral Health Coordinator with Nevada Rural Hospital Partners, discusses the program's goals, its collaboration with law enforcement, and the array of community-based diversion services designed to empower individuals with behavioral health issues to stay out of the criminal justice system while ensuring public safety.

Learning Objectives:

1. Compute how the Nevada FASTT program aims to address behavioral health needs and divert individuals from the criminal justice system.

2. Distinguish how the FASTT program works with law enforcement agencies to identify and assist individuals eligible for diversion services.

3. Recognize common behavioral health challenges faced by individuals at risk of criminal justice involvement and how the FASTT program addresses these issues.

4. Assess the steps taken by the FASTT team to connect individuals with appropriate care and services, reducing recidivism and improving outcomes.
