We delve into the phases of performance that individuals go through, which include phases of wanting to do something but lacking skills, having competence but low commitment, and so on. We use examples like a cross-country bike ride to illustrate how these phases apply in different situations. The episode also touches on the importance of alignment conversations, providing directive support, and understanding the transferable skills and task knowledge needed for a specific role.
