Barry first found music when he borrowed his sister's record collection when he was about eight and was hooked. When Caroline started it was a new beginning, and he listened to all the stations, but Caroline was his favourite by far. Later he became a singer in a band, then started doing discos when he was 18. "Driven by the desire to write real songs, and to work with and create music with other artists he's admired or whose career he's followed, Justin Elswick aka Sleepthief created a masterpiece of renaissance imagery and melodic pop that has since been modeled as a 'new and emerging genre', when in fact, his music is quite simple in its form, but textured and produced so masterfully, you'd think an entire symphony was on board for most tracks."
