Martin is delighted to welcome back Dan Kriesberg, writer, teacher, and outdoor education practitioner, to the Papa Bear Hikes Podcast. Joining him is Camille Simone Edwards, Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Friends Academy.

Together, they introduce us to Diversity Education In Nature (DEIN), a series of workshops and seminars designed to utilize the outdoors as a classroom for fostering equitable and inclusive communities. With the earth as our guide, we explore how to build human ecosystems that reflect these values.

Additionally, we learn about Kids In Nature (KIN), an organization co-founded by Dan and his associates. With a mission to provide enriching experiences for youth in nature-deprived areas, KIN has already led 25 walks and aims to transition into a non-profit organization. Through KIN experiences, young people are empowered to discover the physical, emotional, and social benefits of spending time outdoors.
