Have you ever stood at the edge of a cliff, palms sweating and heart pounding, as you contemplated taking the leap? That level of fear is both palpable and justified given the risk to your life; even if you are attached to a bungee or parachute!
In this episode Coaches Polly and Sam want to have a heart to heart about the other kind of FEAR. The" everyday life" kind of fears that will NOT kill us, but they do take over our minds and create dramatic levels of emotional upset and resistance in our nervous system.
In the course of everyday, life we face countless opportunities and experiences that take us out of our AWESOME. We face these situations sometimes multiples times a day - even if it's merely worrisome thoughts created in our mind. Navigating those moments and how to combat the perceived risks in our minds will make a bigger impact on the trajectory of our life than the once in a while handling of fears standing from a tall ledge.
Most humans have potential limiting fears about both failure AND success believe it or not. Together this week we will unravel the differences and why both eat away at our joy and generate so much anxiety, confusion and suffering. Unpacking societal conditioning, Coach Polly shares her personal fear (ok maybe terror) struggle working in the high-stakes environment of Silicon Valley. Coach Sam, a person for who fear facing has now become like a weekly trip to the grocery store, shares her own epic fear battles and victories in both business and sport.
Conquering fear is akin to building muscle; it demands consistent effort and rewards incremental triumphs. In our conversation, we draw parallels between emotional fortitude and physical endurance. From embracing the discomfort of a brutal workout to the leaps of faith required during life's monumental pivots.
