In this episode of the FitMIND FitBODY podcast, I chat with Gemma Gore, who shares her unique and inspiring journey in the running world. Growing up in Perth and being involved in various sports, Gemma discovered her passion for running and supporting others in their running endeavours.

Gemma opens up about her personal health challenges, including spinal stenosis and degenerative disc disease, and how she has managed to stay active despite these obstacles. She talks about her own running experiences and the joy she finds in participating in local events.

A significant part of Gemma’s story is her dedication as the run crew for her husband, Phil. She shares the details of supporting Phil during ultra-endurance events, from logistics and nutrition to motivation and mental support. Gemma and Phil also started and ran a Parkrun for several years, fostering a supportive running community and encouraging others to embrace a healthy lifestyle.

Gemma emphasises the importance of community in running and how being part of a supportive group can make a significant difference. Her story highlights the value of both running and being a crucial support system for others.
