PAUL CLARK INTERVIEW – Making Money, Having Fun, and Doing Good Through Angel Investing
Manage episode 272382948 series 2790882
You don’t have to be a billionaire or live in Silicon Valley to get involved in the world of angel investing.
From watching Mark Cuban on “Shark Tank” to hearing the stories of the investors who got in on Facebook while it was still a private company, many investors and entrepreneurs have considered the idea of angel investing.
While investing in early stage high-growth companies comes with a fair share of risk, the winning investments in this asset class are known for being BIG wins.
But how do you get involved in angel investing, whether you’re a business owner looking for funding or an investor seeking new opportunities to grow your money?
Paul Clark is the Managing Director of VentureSouth. VentureSouth operates angel investment groups and funds comprised of more than 300 accredited investors across the Southeast. Prior to co-founding VentureSouth, Paul was Senior Vice President of M&A at a multi-billion dollar bank in South Carolina. He was part of a team responsible for investments in financial services companies and vehicles, including an SBIC fund, and developing junior lending capabilities. Paul has extensive private equity investment and fund experience as a Principal at BC Partners in New York and London, and earlier M&A advisory experience at NM Rothschild & Sons in London.
In this episode, Paul shares insight on the world of angel investing, who it is a good fit for, and how investors and entrepreneurs can get involved.
