This concept comes from the idea that it is very scary to admit failure. People deny that they were powerless in their endeavor while claiming that they lacked talent.
They make excuses subconsciously and tell themselves there is no end to the game called life. And it is not just the beginning, there is still more to come. That the never give up model is the correct answer. What this does, it takes away from the opportunity for one to properly feel the despair failing.
By not acknowledging your current pitfalls, masking your ignorance with the not giving up slogan, you are just being stubborn and rigid and stuck in your own ways. You look at your past failures and fool yourself into thinking that it's the dream that never was, that could have been. The dream that people used to cope with their past failures is the or lack of success.
