Sophie Linden joins us this week to discuss the ins and outs of policing and crime prevention in London, her background in the Home Office and as a Councillor and Deputy Mayor of Hackney and what her job as Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime consists of.
We discussed the issues facing policing in London in light of events that have occurred over the past few months, from the impact of Covid-19 crisis on the crime rate and role of policing, the reaction in London following the BLM protests in the USA and what is being done to combat racial profiling and to ensure greater diversity within policing, as well tackling the homelessness crisis and what is being done to keep vulnerable people off the streets.
