Lamentations 3:40

Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord. In the same way that we are told to examine our lives and walk with the Lord, we should take that principle and examine ourselves to see if what we are doing is producing the fruit that we desire in our physical health and fitness. (If you know me, you know that I believe it's much more than just physical, but let's focus on our physical for now). My desire for you is to yes be a hearer and absorber of the information, but to actually do and implement as well. That's how we are able to achieve the results we're looking for Let's take a look at what past choices have brought you to the place you are today, and then we'll map out what we want to see in the future. We must be able to see, acknowledge, recognize, and own our choices in order to get to the part where we change it in the future Let's do this without shame or judgment and harsh emotional responses and just look at it as data and information to learn from Make a line like this on your paper A ----------------------------------------------------B 1. The physical condition you’re in today is a product of the choices you’ve made up to this point. Describe your current results under “A”. (Ex. I am 30 lbs overweight; I pull at my shirts all the time because I don’t like my stomach being seen.) 2. If you could wave a magic wand and make anything a reality, what physical results would you wave into existence? List these under “B”. (Ex. I would fit back into my pre-pregnancy jeans and not feel stressed going out to dinner with my husband) 3. How long have you been struggling to achieve the results you listed in question 2? How many times have you lost weight and then regained it? How many diets have you been on? (Ex. I’ve tried five different diets, each multiple times.) 4. What does it cost you to remain stuck and not progress towards your goals? (Ex. I lack confidence, and I don’t feel comfortable being naked in front of my partner. I have trouble keeping up with my son when we play active games.) 5. Now, let’s extend that idea out into the future. If you stay the same, what will that mean in three years? Five years? (Ex. I will feel less connected to my husband, and I worry that I won’t be a healthy example as my son gets older.) 6. What will be possible for you when you reach your goals? (Ex. I will feel like myself again. I will feel confident again and enjoy being intimate with my husband. I will be able to play and be active without being self conscious or struggling to keep up.) 7. Now, let's extend this scenario further into the future. If you reach your goal, what will that mean for your life in 3 years? Five years? (Ex. With my increased confidence, I will be an example of a strong woman for my daughter. I will feel proud of my ability to set a goal and accomplish it.)
