The first African slave was brought to the United States in 1619. For over 400 years, African Americans have been fighting for freedom and equality. From slavery to Reconstruction to Jim Crow to modern day, every method has been used to achieve what Declaration of Independence claims, “that all men are created equal”. But on May 25th, the world as we know it changed when George Floyd was killed on video by Minneapolis police officers. Civil unrest has exploded globally. Dr. Martin Luther King said, “Certain conditions continue to exist in our society, which must be condemned as vigorously as we condemn riots. But in the final analysis, a riot is the language of the unheard. And what is it that America has failed to hear?” The question is can you hear us now? --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/drmalaikaspeaks/support
