Some say that rules are there to be broken, others that they get in the way of progress. In Compliance, we’re often seen as the gatekeeper of the rules and a can sometimes be labelled as barriers to success - burdening businesses with bureaucracy and unnecessary controls. With that in mind, we take a look today at whether ‘playing by the rules’ is good for business and if there is ever a time when breaking the rules may be the right thing to do.
