In this episode we discuss how Clarence Le and Matt Liao have become CSCS' (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists) out of their UBC Kinesiology Undergrad. They talk about how to obtain the certifications needed to become a personal trainer and a Strength and Conditioning Coach.
Clarence Le graduated from UBC with a Bachelor’s of Kinesiology, and has a diploma in Sport Science from Douglas College. He is a certified Personal Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). He has experience in the field as a former intern Strength and Conditioning coach at the UBC Varsity Weight Room and Better Bodies Club, and is now working as a S&C coach at Saltus Athletic Academy and at the Richmond Olympic Oval.
Matt Liao also graduated from UBC with a Bachelor’s of Kinesiology and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA, a Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist and was a Student Coach at the UBC Varsity Weight Room, a Coach at Jump Gymnastics, and a S&C intern coach at the Richmond Olympic Oval. He is now a Kinesiologist and S&C coach at Innovative Fitness.
