Welcome to the forty-eighth episode of the Womanthology podcast.

Womanthology is a digital magazine and professional community powered by female energy and ingenuity. We champion equal recognition and reward for everyone, sharing opportunities, ideas and a deep pool of collective wisdom – supporting each other to be unstoppable.

In this episode, we are very fortunate to have not one, but two guests who are on the front line of breast cancer care at the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. Sarah Adomah is a lead breast clinical nurse specialist and Natalie Johnson is a breast and oncoplastic surgeon. They discuss diversity and inclusion in medicine, and how at the start of October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Black History Month in the UK, they launched an exciting project in partnership with a company called Nubian Skin, following funding from The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity to make available the UK’s first softies in a variety of skin tones. (A softie is a lightweight fabric prosthesis that women with breast cancer are often provided with to wear in their bra after a mastectomy.)
