Cardiff City in the Premier League with comedian Dai Rhys Towler
Manage episode 407436961 series 3560205
Host Carl Jones is joined by comedian and Cardiff City superfan Dai Rhys Towler to continue the count up the all-time Premier League table as we reach 45th place.
Dai regales us with some incredible trivia on the history of Cardiff City, including how they helped coin the phrase 'back to square one' - an irony not lost on this particular dry-humoured Bluebird - before recalling the dominant City side that won the Championship in 2013 in unfamiliar colours.
We also cover the reigns of Neil Warnock (big fan), Malky Mackay (big fan until huge caveat) and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (categorically not a fan) as we relive both seasons in the Premier League, find out where things went wrong for them for both to end in relegation and what Cardiff must do if they ever want to return.
We'll also put a Premier League Cardiff City XI into the archives, with two players in particular proving to be poignant picks, as well as choosing the Premier League's greatest Brazilian Goalkeeper/Defender of all-time with fellow comedian and friend of the show Fran Jenking who joins us for the final ten minutes.
