He and his community have been embroiled in a long-standing legal and public relations battle against Enbridge, a Canadian energy company, to protect their ancestral lands. This struggle has been documented in "Bad River," a documentary film released in early 2024, which showcases Bates and his fellow activists within the band. Joe joins Jay to share his personal journey of activism, the profound influence of past generations of tribal and environmental activists on his own path, and the ongoing fight against Enbridge, which affects the future of water protection in America. I create pieces of music and combine them with my words to bring listeners a greater sense of well being. Each episode addresses an emotional need or challenge. I like to think of them as 'micro-therapy' as they are all around 10 minutes or so, yet the vibrations of the music work efficiently to move the body and mind into a grounded place. I've been on my own journey of healing throughout my adult life, and I've discovered that composing these are healing and guiding for me personally. I like offering them out to anyone who could respond to their benefits. Every episode is different and may evoke a different emotional response. Seek out the ones that work for you when you need them. Guided Harmonies is the combination of original words put to therapeutic music, all written and created by me: Margaret Dahlberg. I also offer personal music, created for clients specific emotional needs: guidedharmonies.com

×Now with words, this episode reminds us that recovering is an ongoing and gradual process. This piece was inspired by a mountain spring, joyfully babbling in the warm sun after a heavy spring snowstorm.
Now with words, I released the music alone back in May. The waves were recorded in Northern California as I sat in the warm sun on a peaceful and beautiful beach. Let the words added to this podcast episode take you to a relaxing beach where you can allow yourself to let go.
From March, 2022, I listened to this and decided that the vocals were too quiet for the music. It's more accessible for listeners to access in it's new form since we download our podcasts. Enjoy Floating into a deeper place of self-acceptance. As we live, grow & evolve we can gradually allow ourselves to come into our full potential. This comes from a gentle place – not from force or pushing.…
Composed one year ago, prepare to soar without the words, as I prepare to release my latest music-only album in June with this song and many others on Guided Harmonies: Recovering.
I wrote this song last year after being shocked and appalled by the mass graves found at the indigenous residential schools that were forced upon our native Canadians over the past 150 years. Instead of creating a sad song, I decided to write a song about what it would feel like to have the childhood of any of our dreams where everything went perfectly. Find this song and others from the podcast on my newest release: Guided Harmonies: Recovering, which will be released on all of the download sites.…
As I completed my instrumental album, I felt this final track was missing something so I added flute to the original version. Flowing stream recorded on Columbia Falls Mountain Easter weekend 2022.
Released a year ago, here is Body & Soul without words. Look for this song and others in June when Guided Harmonies: Recovering is released on all of the streaming and download sites.
As I prepare to release my next album (Guided Harmonies: Recovering, June 2022) I am sharing the music-only versions of songs past. Enjoy!
Spring is here and who isn't ready for a little recovery? I recorded the stream on Columbia Falls Mountain in Montana from a stream that was abundant with a heavy spring snow storm melt. The last in this cycle, I will be releasing an album of the songs composed after "Loving Commitments". Stay tuned for more information!…
Life often does not go as expected. And yet one predictability is all aspects of life come and go in waves. I recorded the waves in this piece while on vacation in Napa, California, as a smart phone video. I was sitting on Rock Point Beach having just awoken from a sun-nourished nap accompanied by the gentle crashing of the waves. I wanted to remember the moment by capturing the visual and the sound. For the actual video, visit my Guided Harmonies Instagram site.…
We all have our childhood dreams for feeling of loved and accepted. This music only version of my June 4 release was inspired by the challenges I felt trying to reconcile the ongoing extreme suffering of children. From Indigenous residential schools to war torn countries, many children go through far more than many of us will ever comprehend. And many of us feel helpless as we want to support these children as best as we can. And we all need support for the wounded child that lurks inside us and sometimes has more power than we want it to. . .…
Sometimes I need the words, sometimes I don't. Therefore, new to season 4, I am added 'music only' files so you don't have to wait for the entire album to drop. Music from seasons 1-3 can be found on all of the streaming sites in music by Margaret Dahlberg. Find the music from the episode "Introspective Inquiries" listed on Netflix After Life series - Season 3, episode 6.…
This week's episode was inspired by those who experience significant events that cause a sense of a loss of momentum. We often feel discouraged when we lose our footing from unexpected occurrences. This piece is designed to create a revitalized sense of recovery when rebuilding from that sense of loss.…

In order to float and feel free, we need ballast to keep ourselves grounded and steady at the same time. This is the great balancing act that keeps us all on course. This week's episode brings you a sense of presence and strength as it connects you with the gravitational power of our planet.
