The preface of Genesis 12:1-3 tells us that God called Abraham to leave his home and go to a land that he would show him. This was a big promise, and it would have been easy for Abraham to forget it when things got tough. But he didn't. He remembered the preface, and he trusted God to keep his word. We can learn from Abraham's example. When we are faced with challenges, we need to remember the promises God has made to us. We need to trust that he will keep his word, even when we don't understand why things are happening the way they are.
