Dr. Jennifer Christner MD, Dean of the School of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, joins Innovators to talk about how to build medical schools and healthcare systems around a more diverse generation of physicians and healthcare professionals. With her creativity in approaching the learning process balanced with her understanding of the requirements of documenting the quality of our programs, Dr. Christner has been recognized for work in faculty development, as well as teaching and research. She has mentored students, residents, and fellows in clinical practice and research.

A pediatrician specializing in adolescent medicine, Dr. Christner became the Dean of Baylor's School of Medicine in 2015 after serving as the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Medical Education at State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical University. Prior to SUNY Upstate, Dr. Christner held academic leadership positions at the University of Toledo and the University of Michigan. She earned her MD from the University of Toledo and a Bachelor's degree from Ohio State University.
