Today we are thrilled to welcome a very special guest, Urmi Hossain. Urmi is Bengali by blood, Italian by birth, and now resides in Canada. She’s a leader in the financial services industry, a self-published author, speaker, blogger who is deeply passionate about women’s empowerment.
Urmi recently published her book, Discovering Your Identity, where she opens up about the challenges of growing up as a third-culture kid—navigating her Bengali heritage while being raised in Italy. Through her reflections, she shares the struggles many South Asian girls face, particularly in balancing cultural expectations with life in the West.
In this episode, we talk not just about Urmi’s journey but about the universal challenge many of us face when trying to figure out who we are. It’s a conversation for anyone who has ever felt caught between different cultures or expectations and struggled to make sense of where they belong. We discuss how understanding and embracing all parts of our identity can empower us to show up more fully in our lives, from leadership and advocacy to our everyday interactions.
