35. Sita Chia - The experience of Mysore, life as an Ashtangi and the struggle to belong
Manage episode 339751381 series 2546319
Sita has grown to be one of my good friends over the past few years, especially during the peak of the pandemic, when I was recovering from a blown out knee, and when morning Mysore was the only class that wasn’t fully booked all the time. I got to experience the magic of Mysore for myself during that time, which helped give me a bit of a routine, as well as a lovely community that help hold space for me.
Every so often we’d meet to catch up and I’d enjoy the conversations we had. I’ve asked her to do this poddy with me for years now so when she finally agreed to, I was very excited. So I’m excited to share it with you now as well.
⠀
Stuff we talked about:⠀
- Life before yoga
- Struggling to belong
- Growing up in Iran, Japan, Thailand
- Life as a photojournalist
- Yoga in India
- Experiencing Mysore
- Principles of Ashtanga
- Showing up is the hardest part
- Life as an Ashtangi
- Mysore Magic
Thanks everyone for always tuning in,
Aaron
