Thomas Steininger in dialogue with Gibrán Rivera

How can we grow in our mutual understanding in a world that is so badly fragmented? How can we meet when so much resentment is held within all fundamentalist identities, whether the Russian imperial identity of Vladimir Putin or the fundamentalist views of some extreme parts of woke culture? Mainstream culture also puts forth the fundamentalism of scientism and markets. Where can the impulse to want to understand come from? For Gibrán Rivera, the answer lies in the potential both of dialogue and a renewed recognition of the sacred.

Gibrán Rivera is a master facilitator, a consultant committed to transforming organizations into “networks of collaborative leadership.” He devoted his life’s work to the idea of democracy and to the work of emancipatory politics in urban communities.

Dr. Thomas Steininger and Gibrán Rivera speak about how new rituals of dialogue and a new recognition of the sacred can allow us to develop the mutual understanding that our world needs so desperately today.
