Manage episode 358847986 series 3424365
Join host Kyle Dubé as he chats with his guest Brad Bartko about his lifelong quest to create change and forge a positive path forward for people with disabilities.
Brad Bartko is the co-founder of Accessible by Design, along with his wife, Jenn. Born three months premature with Cerebral Palsy, Brad was given only 24 hours to live. Brad defied those expectations and even played 15 years of Sledge hockey, at one time representing Team Alberta in competition. Brad is a devoted disability advocate and wants to be seen as normal by others. Brad has spent an enormous amount of time speaking to others and emphasizes that they should focus on their abilities and not their disabilities. Brad continues to hold people to a higher level of standards and accountability when it comes to accessibility and universal design, forging a higher quality for future projects.
