I want to talk about something we all need a little more of: self-compassion.

It can feel strange or even wrong to be kind to ourselves, especially if your trauma history does not give you a good model of what that should look like.

But I’m here to tell you that self-compassion is not selfish—it’s actually essential, especially when you’re healing from childhood trauma. So, let’s dive in and talk about what self-compassion really is, whether it’s okay to practice it, and six simple tips to start showing yourself more grace today.
