Open projects come with an emotional toll! If there's something you can't get to because of time, but you're seeing evidence of it everywhere you turn, that will drain your energy and enthusiasm for that project. It's just so frustrating and taxing!

So, here's what I recommend:

(1) List your projects in order of priority. I know you want to do them all at once but you can't. So be bold. Put them in order so you can give them your all when they get to the top of the list.

[Tip: I like to think about one key project per month! If the 'big project' is something like 'renovate hallway', I break it down into cut the wood panels, attach wood panels, prep, paint prep, painting, dress. One of two of these sub projects are allocated per month.]

(2) Look in your diary and physically ring fence time to work on the upcoming projects. Recently, in writing my book proposal for Hay House, I scheduled time to clear things off my list to make room and I scheduled time for research, drafting ideas and polishing key sections. If you don't schedule the time, you don't have the time.

(3) Use time slots! I would set myself a 60 minute timer with one key task like 'write bio in book proposal' or '60 minutes editing for membership content'. After the 60 minutes, I've begun and don't want to stop. But it stops me bailing too soon!

At the end of the day, your success comes down to how well you can define these projects, allocate time to them and work through one by one in a self directed way.
