Ever heard of Sea Buckthorn or Sea Berries? Well neither had my guest today, Seth Pascoe, until he discovered this fruit and it’s amazing health properties while trekking in the Himalayas.

Seth tells us about how a chance encounter with Sea Buckthorn and its use for combating the effects of altitude sickness led him on a journey to discover more about the health benefits of this little known berry, which has been used for thousands of years as a natural remedy against various ailments.

From being sent out to space with Cosmonauts to help combat the effects of radiation, to being used in juice as the official drink of the Chinese athletes in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Seth was so impressed with the berry that he now has his own business growing, cultivating and processing the berries for sale in the UK.

Seth appeared on Rick Stein’s, BBC TV programme, ‘Cornwall,’ in January.
