In this episode, we sit down with returning guest Carrin Gilmore and look at the world through her eyes, an adult living with Autism.
Carrin is a RSP in Oakland Unified and is a graduate from University of The Pacific (with her ma in education with a specialization in special education). She is also on the Board of Directors at Autism Career Pathways, an organization led by autistics, that equips the world to hire neurodivergents.
In addition to Carrin sharing her journey thus far, we discuss:
-“Masking” within the Autism community
-Empowering young children to talk about their diagnosis
-Knowing that it is ok to share your diagnosis and how to do it with a positive twist
-Job interview do’s and dont’s
