In this Brain & Life podcast episode Dr. Daniel Correa is joined by Emmy-nominated journalist and stroke survivor Kristen Aguirre. Kristen shares her journey from experiencing a stroke at age 31 and returning to the workplace to being a vocal disability activist and finding her new “normal.” Dr. Correa is then joined by Dr. Sarah Song, associate professor and vascular neurology fellowship director in the division of cerebrovascular diseases in the department of neurological sciences at Rush University Medical Center, and associate editor of Brain & Life Magazine. Dr. Song discusses young people experiencing strokes and what comes after for treatment, therapies, and life planning.
