Researchers continue to explore and build on existing knowledge regarding the role of the gut microbiome and food choices in the pathophysiology and management of numerous chronic diseases, including type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, gastrointestinal disorders, and even mental health disorders. This episode addresses the impact of food choices in shaping the gut microbiome, including what nutrients feed the gut microbiome, and the current science on the gut microbiome’s impact on health outcomes and disease.
