Sally Bailey has a Human Movement degree and a Masters in Strength and Conditioning. I

n the Podcast we talk about her current role at a very prestigious school in the heart of Melbourne. Sally is responsible for the development and direction of a program at the school that fosters health, wellness, and access to activity during the regular school day.

This is a very comprehensive and sophisticated program. But, having known Sally for over 20 years, that doesn’t surprise me. This is how she goes about her work. Sally is a true professional. Considered, highly experienced, and has worked at all levels of sport and physical conditioning as a Strength and Conditioning Coach.

In this Podcast, she details just how the Artemis program sets up life long healthy habits for all the students that will stay with them for the rest of their adult lives. I wish we had a program similar to this for all students in all schools.

I firmly believe that compulsory movement, exercise, and health education is the only way we will arrest the growing obesity epidemic that exists in this country. Ok, so not many schools have the facilities and infrastructure that Melbourne Girls Grammar has, but facilities don’t dictate movement. Facilities don’t determine education and information. Humans control that. Humans teach, learn, and move.

Wouldn’t it be nice if we could implement something like this in every school and get all our young humans moving every day? Just a thought.
